At last, after several years of labour, in part aided and abetted, bullied and cajoled by my friend Richard Wadley, my memoir about my 60-year association with the NE Tuli Block of Botswana is complete and with the printer! We expect it to be available from the end of February. The book is entitled Among the Titans of Tuli. It comprises over 380 pages, including 18 pages of colour plates, and over 130 black and white illustrations scattered among its 10 chapters. These deal with the early history of the Tuli region, the past presence of elephant and their virtual extermination by the early 20th Century, settlement of the area by conservationists after the Second World War, the return of the game, and the magnificent riverine forests of the Limpopo, Shashe and Motloutse rivers, through which I and my team of guides led thousands of walking trailists for almost 20 years.
